Imperfections with your teeth don’t have to define your smile.
With composite and porcelain veneers, we can improve the appearance of your teeth, enhancing your smile and your confidence, too.
Composite and porcelain veneers – what you need to know
Whether you choose composite or porcelain veneers, you can expect a high level of craftsmanship at Agincourt Dental.
Smile design is one of our preferred disciplines of dentistry, and we have an eye for how to make your new teeth look exactly that – like new teeth, not ‘new veneers’.
The smile design process will encompass making each tooth being treated look the right size and shape, and in sync with its neighbouring tooth.
Your dentist will consult you on your preferred shade for your new smile – we recommend a natural shade, but if you want to go full Hollywood, that’s fine too!
Benefits Summary
- Aesthetic improvements to the shade and shape of teeth.
- Composite veneers are highly cost-effective for full smile makeovers.
- Long-term solution for chipped, misshapen and discoloured teeth (10-15 years + lifespan).
- Porcelain veneers are highly stain-resistant.
- Porcelain is considered the gold standard in cosmetic and restorative dental materials.
What to expect
Consultation and chat
We will have an informal chat about how you would like your smile to improve. Your dentist can also suggest some ways in which to enhance the natural beauty of your smile with veneers. They will advise on the differences between using composite and porcelain, as each material has different characteristics, limitations, and qualities.
Your dentist will make a plan to use the resins or porcelain to treat your tooth, or teeth if you are having a full smile makeover with veneers.
Treatment
Dental impressions (digital scans) of your teeth are taken to create your porcelain/composite veneers. If you are having a full smile makeover, a wax template of your teeth will be taken to create your new set of veneers. We can then use this as a basis for the design of your final veneers, making any small adjustments during a smile trial appointment.
Your new smile
The composite or porcelain veneers are adhered to your teeth. In the case of porcelain veneers, your dentist will need to remove some natural tooth structures to place the veneers. This is carried out under local anaesthesia.
