At Agincourt Dental, we’re fortunate to have the talents of Dr Mark Travis, who can help address irregularities with children’s teeth, helping them to erupt as they should, and before problems escalate.
Putting nature back on track
Dental orthopaedics is a form of interceptive orthodontics, which aims to catch structural dental abnormalities early, to prevent complex intervention in the future.
In many cases, treating children and teenagers’ teeth can prevent extractions and lengthy and multifaceted orthodontics when they become adults. Just as importantly, it can give them vital confidence and self-esteem, particularly around their peers.
Dental orthopaedics – our treatments
Treatment of children and teens with early orthodontic intervention can include the following:
- Addressing jaw irregularities (without surgery).
- Identifying issues that could be causing tooth misalignment (e.g. mouth breathing, sinus problems, the angles at which teeth are coming through).
- Diagnosing breathing problems.
- A course with an orthodontic appliance.
Investing in your child’s dental future, and beyond
Dental orthopaedics doesn’t just address the anatomy of your child’s teeth, but their livelihood as a whole.
With early intervention, a myriad of related problems can be avoided, including headaches, increased risk of decay, hyperactivity, nightmares and tooth grinding.
