Visiting the hygienist goes hand-in-hand with visiting the dentist. You cannot hope to maintain healthy teeth without healthy gums, and it’s your hygienist who is the caretaker for your gum health.
During your dental check-up, your dentist will be able to identify problems with your gums and refer you to the hygienist for gum-related issues.
Remember that gum disease is the leading reason why tooth loss occurs in adults, so maintaining gum health by attending the hygienist is very important.
