Joanne (Jo) brings over 40 years of experience in dentistry, including nearly 30 years as a Dental Hygienist, and is passionate about helping patients maintain healthy teeth and gums for life.

Having previously worked as a dental nurse, Jo qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1997 and has since developed a particular interest in preventative periodontal care. She enjoys providing personalised oral hygiene advice and helping patients understand how a good daily routine can make a lasting difference to their oral health.

Jo believes in treating every patient as an individual and providing the same high standard of care she would expect to receive herself. She takes a calm, reassuring approach, particularly with nervous patients, explaining treatment options clearly and ensuring they feel in control throughout their appointments.

Jo is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT) and Gloucester Independent Dentists, Hygienists and Therapists (GIDHT), regularly attending professional meetings and continuing professional development activities.

Outside of dentistry, Jo enjoys walking and cycling in the countryside around Abergavenny, exploring West Wales in her campervan and keeping active at the gym. She previously served in the Royal Air Force and enjoys spending time with her husband, Stuart, and their family.
